Who we are

Associazione Lumo is a non-profit association based in Milan that aims to provide educational opportunities and skill formation for refugees to improve their lives and livelihoods.

The main focus is on individual empowerment, job placement and training for refugees. This is achieved with the help of our experienced partners in vocational training.

Louis Martin

President

Louis is an education specialist with a decade of experience dedicated to creating a more equitable world. Driven by the belief that education is a fundamental right, not a privilege, he founded Associazione LUMO to provide learning opportunities for underserved communities. He works tirelessly to build a network of like-minded individuals and organizations, all united by the common goal of making quality education accessible to everyone.

Theodore Theimer

Chief project manager

Theodore is a dedicated project manager with a passion for fostering a more inclusive society. Sharing the belief that education is a fundamental right for all, he is a key member of the foundation. He also believes that true integration is a two-way street, where a mutual understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures is essential. Theo is committed to bridging these gaps, working to ensure that the foundation’s projects not only educate, but also build strong, culturally-aware communities.

Angelica Peruzzo

Cultural Events &Youth Programs Coordinator

As a passionate high school student with a love for music and theatre, Angelica is a dedicated volunteer at the foundation who organizes cultural events, tutors immigrant children in Italian, and recently led a successful Shakespeare workshop for kids at Teatro Litta. Looking ahead, she will continue to be a vital part of the foundation’s events, including performing at an upcoming singing night and participating in stand-up comedy workshops.
